A queer paranormal romance featuring Vietnamese mythology and Fallen Angels – what’s not to like about Of Charms, Ghosts and Grievances?

This queer paranormal romance features the fake dating trope and is full of banter and interesting lore.
Queer Books about magical things to take your mind of reality. A slight spin on Top Ten Tuesday’s weekly prompt.
Seriously. I found it exhausting to read, because everything felt kinda… like there was no spark. Which is especially sad if it’s a story about magic and the Fae.
One page in and I’m fighting tears. It’s a happy kind of suffering though.
This might be one of the worst insta love pairings I’ve encountered.
I was so excited for Fated but somehow I managed to surpress the knowledge that this means the end of the Temper saga. I couldn’t ignore that knowledge anymore while actually reading it though. I didn’t want it to end and even though Fated is over 600 pages long it still feels too short.
Her way of inventing and handling magic fits perfectly into that setting and it even isn’t something that has been done many times before. In a way, it feels realistic too and I wouldn’t be that surprised if it actually were true.
I dreaded writing this review because I can’t say anything nice about it.
Since we’re all staying home as much as possible anyway, what better way to spend my time than to reread my favourite books? And if you don’t know these books now is your chance to spend some quality time with queer quarantine reading.
