Description: With their countries on the brink of war, Damen and his new master, Prince Laurent, must exchange the intrigues of the palace for the sweeping might of the battlefield as they travel to the border to avert a lethal plot.
Forced to hide his identity, Damen finds himself increasingly drawn to the dangerous, charismatic Laurent. But as the fledgling trust between the two men deepens, the truth of secrets from both their pasts is poised to deal them the crowning death blow…
Review: I was so excited to read the next part because I really loved the first book. And guess what? I wasn’t disappointed. Far from it, really.
The tension between Damen and Laurent is palpable and you’re always wondering if something is going to happen or not. I can’t think of a lot of pairings I was this invested in. Usually because you don’t have to wait this long. But because they’re so well written as well.
I mentioned the detailed writing in my review of Captive Prince and I maybe loved it even more with the second installment.
