The Prompt
This week we’re talking about Backlist Books in order to spread some love for those older ones people aren’t talking about that much anymore. You’ll have to wait for my reviews to learn which of these queer backlist ARCs I actually love, though.
About Top Ten Tuesday
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
9 Queer Backlist ARCs
The Willing
by Lyn Hemphill
Kitty Wilson doesn’t know how, but she can bring people back from the dead as long as someone is willing to take their place and keep the universe in balance. Oxford student Talia McGregor’s life goes from bad to worse when she’s killed in a hit-and-run.
All That Remains
by Sheri Lewis Wohl
Search and rescue volunteer Johnnie Lancaster and her dog, Cougar, serve their community by bringing home the skeletal remains of the lost no one could save. But sometimes being the best at what she does isn’t good enough.
Aces Wild: A Heist
by Amanda DeWitt
Some people join chess club, some people play football. Jack Shannon runs a secret blackjack ring in his private school’s basement. What else is the son of a Las Vegas casino mogul supposed to do? Everything starts falling apart when Jack’s mom is arrested for their family’s ties to organized crime.
Playing It Safe
by Amy Andrews
Donovan Bane loves playing rugby for the Sydney Smoke. And if that means he has to keep his sexuality a secret, that’s a sacrifice he’s prepared to make. At least until after he retires, anyway. He doesn’t want to be the first pro rugby player in Australia to officially come out while still playing.
The Final Child
by Fran Dorricott
Erin and her brother Alex were the last children abducted by ‘the Father’, a serial killer who only ever took pairs of siblings. She escaped, but her brother was never seen again. Traumatised, Erin couldn’t remember anything about her ordeal, and the Father was never caught.
Sailor Proof
by Annabeth Albert
It’s petty, but Naval Chief Derrick Fox wishes he could exact a little revenge on his ex by showing off a rebound fling. His submarine is due to return to its Bremerton, Washington, home base soon and Derrick knows all too well there won’t be anyone waiting with a big, showy welcome.
Passing on Faith
by A.M. Leibowitz
Following his father’s death, Micah Forbes believes he can finally put the family who rejected him and their religious bigotry behind him. In a cruel twist, his older brother calls to tell him he’s inherited their father’s abandoned vacation home.
For the Love of April French by Penny Aimes
April French doesn’t do relationships and she never asks for more. A long-standing regular at kink club Frankie’s, she’s kind of seen it all. As a trans woman, she’s used to being the scenic rest stop for others on their way to a happily-ever-after. She knows how desire works, and she keeps hers carefully boxed up to take out on weekends only.
By the Book
by G.B. Gordon
A junior accountant at a successful import/export company, Ben Coyne is just beginning his career. His life is nearly perfect—until he finds his boss murdered, unravels a million-dollar embezzling scheme, and becomes the target of a madman. An FBI agent is assigned to protect him, but with Ben looking like the primary suspect, trust is hard to come by.

It’s SOOO easy to get behind on reviews. I definitely read faster than I review, so I’m always playing catch up. Good luck with all these!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
