Description: Love knows no limits…but fear could keep them from seeing it.

Gabe lives a double life. As Gabriel Henson, he works multiple jobs to support his remorseless, alcoholic mother. As Tony Ryder, he does internet porn for extra cash and regular safe sex without complications.

Yet when he encounters a scared young man freaking out in a night club, he’s compelled to reach out. Ever since then, the memory of that young man has haunted him.

Tristan Lavelle lives his life thirty minutes at a time. After a traumatic brain injury three years ago, he gets through his day recording his life in spiral notebooks and sticky note reminders.

A month after Tristan’s embarrassingly public meltdown, another chance meeting with Gabe sparks a warm, emotionally fulfilling email relationship. Both men crave more, but fear of the next step stands between them.

Until Tristan gets the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial that could improve his memory—if the side effects don’t kill him. But for Tristan, the possibility of a real life with Gabe is worth any risk…

Review: I really like this series’ first book (review here), but I think, I might like Tristan and Gabe’s story more. Well, I know I like it more.

As soon as I read about Tristan in The truth as he knows it, I was hooked. Making me believe a love story between him and anybody is difficult, because his memory span is like 30 minutes. Falling in love takes sliiightly longer. But the way it was handled here? Totally realistic and very cute, too.

Of course this is no happy-nothing-ever-goes-wrong love story (After reading 2 books by A.M. Arthur and getting to know more side characters, I think drama might be her thing. And I love that it’s her thing!). So much heartbreak… I had some problems with Noel and Shane’s transition from drama to sex, but here I could enjoy both parts. Speaking of those two guys, I really like how they play a part in Tristan and Gabe’s story without demanding too much space.

I’m very excited for the next part, that’s for sure.

  1. Tristan is such an interesting character! I agree AM definitely likes her drama haha. This is a great review, love it! I think I saw on twitter that the author has like 5 or 6 more books coming out this year? I WANT ALL OF THEM! Hopefully one is a follow-up in this series.
