The prompt

This week’s prompt is: It’s 2025; are you looking forward to any highly anticipated book releases or reading events in January or the following months?

About The Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and continued until December 31, 2012. It was reintroduced on February 15, 2013, with the approval of Jennifer. The hop takes place weekly, starting on a Friday and concluding the following Thursday. Each week features a specific prompt that poses a book-related question for participants to address.

Queer Books I am anticipating in 2025

One aspect of being a book blogger is anticipating new releases, a skill I haven’t fully mastered – yet. This is mostly because I focus on backlist books and the queer ARCs I receive. However, this year, I want to make some changes, one of which is keeping an eye out for upcoming queer novels.

Recently, I used Goodreads to take inventory of upcoming releases by authors I follow there, and one novel, in particular, caught my attention:

Rachel Reid’s The Shots You Take – a queer hockey romance written by one of my favourite authors? Count me in! Luckily, the wait isn’t too long, as it will be published in early March. Another book I’m eagerly anticipating, though it likely won’t be categorized as queer, is My Friends by Fredrik Backman. If you’ve been following this blog for a while you might already know how much I love his Beartown series!

Throughout the year, I’ll regularly check for upcoming releases, not just using Goodreads but also through Bookstagram – and I might even get a late start with BookTok. I’m happy to connect with you on Instagram and TikTok. Also, tell me all about your favourite (queer) bookish influencers on both platforms!

I am still using my Book Blogger’s BuJo – in true Bullet Journal fashion, meaning it has evolved over these past few months to reflect my current needs and interests. The calendar is ready to be filled with important bookish dates, so feel free to share the upcoming releases you’re looking forward to and the bookish events you’re excited about!
